Crafting Process

Every tool undergoes a meticulous journey from raw materials to a finished masterpiece, meticulously crafted by hand. Here’s a glimpse into our process:

1. Forging: In the heart of the forge, amid sparks and flames, our tools begin their journey. Each piece is forged with skill and dedication, shaping it into its final form.

Heat Treating

Heat treating is a process used to make metals and alloys stronger, harder, and more flexible. By heating metals and then cooling them, we change their physical and structural properties without altering their chemical makeup.

Different metals react differently to heat, so each metal has specific temperatures where changes happen. For example, heating steel can make it tougher or remove internal stresses, depending on how it’s cooled afterward. Even small amounts of elements in the metal, like carbon, can affect how we treat it.

To get the best results, we need to know the type of metal and what we want to achieve. This helps us choose the right temperature, time, and cooling method. For instance, if we want hard steel, we cool it quickly. But if we want it softer, we cool it slowly.

In the end, using the right steel is essential for making the best blades. So, by carefully controlling the heat-treating process, we ensure our blades are top-quality and perform exceptionally well

2. Collaboration: Our team works closely together, each craftsman contributing their expertise. As the blacksmith’s work concludes, the carpenter steps in, continuing the dialogue of craftsmanship.

3. Individuality in Handles: Like a footprint in the sand, each handle is crafted individually, ensuring a perfect fit and a touch of uniqueness. Just as no two footprints are alike, no two handles are identical, reflecting the artisan’s touch.

4. Personalized Touch: Variations in chisel sockets or axe eyes add a personal touch to each tool, making it truly one-of-a-kind. It’s these subtle differences that make each piece special.

5.Crafting Leather Goods

Our leather goods are crafted with meticulous care, using time-honored techniques and premium materials. Here’s a glimpse into our process:

Premium Cowhide: We source our cowhide from a local tannery, where traditional methods dating back 100 years are employed. This ensures the highest quality leather for our products.

Traditional Dyeing: The leather undergoes dyeing with Fiebings professional oil dye, providing vibrant and long-lasting coloration. This step sets the foundation for the distinctive aesthetic of our leather goods.

Hand-applied Treatments: To enhance both the appearance and durability of the leather, it is treated with a blend of palm leaf wax and heated beeswax. This combination not only imparts a vintage look but also offers excellent protection against wear and tear.

Finishing Touches: For the final flourish, Fiebing’s Acrylic resolene is delicately applied, providing a sleek and polished finish. This protective layer not only enhances the appearance but also ensures longevity, allowing our leather goods to withstand the test of time.

Each step in our process is undertaken with precision and passion, resulting in leather goods that exude timeless elegance and exceptional quality

6. Packing and Shipping:

Finally, the finished tool is carefully packed for its journey to its new home, ensuring it arrives safely and ready to serve its purpose.

At every stage of this journey, dedication, skill, and attention to detail ensure that each tool embodies the spirit of craftsmanship and becomes a cherished companion in your endeavors
